Acknowledge Youth’s Potential for Environmental Sustainability

Training Course

8-15 February 2026 | Sezginler Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School Training Hotel, Türkiye

This training course brings together youth workers to strengthen their environmental awareness, waste management, renewable energy, and climate action, as they play a crucial role in shaping young people’s attitudes and actions toward sustainability.

Training Activity Description

"Acknowledge Youth’s Potential for Environmental Sustainability" is an 8-day Erasmus+ KA153 training course designed for youth workers active in non-formal learning settings. The course aims to strengthen their competencies in environmental sustainability, waste management, recycling, renewable energy, and climate-conscious youth work.

Through interactive, experience-based sessions, participants will explore how environmental education can be embedded into daily youth work practice. Using non-formal methodologies such as workshops, outdoor activities, simulations, reflection groups, and collaborative tool design, youth workers will co-create educational resources that can later be applied in their organizations and communities.

The training also promotes peer learning and cross-sectoral cooperation between youth organizations from Türkiye, Romania, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Slovakia, North Macedonia, and Poland, fostering the creation of future partnerships under Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps.

By the end of the course, participants will not only enhance their environmental literacy and facilitation skills but also become agents of change, capable of inspiring young people toward greener, more sustainable lifestyles through non-formal learning.

What You Will Experience

During 6 days of intensive non-formal learning, participants will:

  • Explore key environmental topics such as waste management, recycling, renewable energy, carbon footprint reduction, and water conservation.
  • Take part in interactive workshops, outdoor learning sessions, and group projects designed to turn environmental theory into practical tools.
  • Develop methods to integrate sustainability principles into their own youth work practices.
  • Collaborate in multicultural teams to create new ideas and approaches for promoting environmental awareness among young people.
  • Exchange best practices with partner organizations from Türkiye, Romania, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Slovakia, North Macedonia, and Poland.

What You Will Gain

By the end of the course, participants will:
- Strengthen their knowledge and methodological toolkit in environmental education.
- Enhance their ability to engage youth in sustainability projects.
- Build international partnerships for future Erasmus+ or ESC initiatives.
- Gain insight into inclusive and eco-friendly practices applicable to local communities.
