COMETS

COMETS (COMpetence development European Training Strategy in the field of youth) is a one week course offered once a year to support advanced trainers exploring a certain competence area defined by the ETS Competence Model for Trainers.

In the context of COMETS, advanced means that the trainer-learner has the capacity to reflect on their practice as a trainer. This also implies a capacity for [self] assessment. Further guiding principles for COMETS training courses can be found right hand side.

The 7th COMETS edition took place online on 2-6 November 2020. It tackled the competence area 'Being civically engaged'. The trainers were Nik Paddison and Christin Voigt.

The 6th COMETS edition took place on 16-22 February 2020 in Ireland and tackled the competence area 'Designing Educational Programmes'. The trainers were Deirdre Quinlan and Peter Hofmann.

The 5th COMETS edition took place on 13-19 March 2019 in Greece and looked at the competence area 'Cooperating successfully in teams'. The report will be uploaded soon. The trainers were Nik Paddison and Peter Hofmann.

The 4th COMETS edition was successfully implemented in May 2018 in Vienna, Austria, focussing on the competence area "Understanding and facilitating individual and group learning processes”. The course was carried out by Nik Paddison and Alexandra Beweis. The report of the course can be found right hand side.

The 3rd COMETS edition was successfully implemented in April 2017 in Dresden, Germany, focussing on 'Being civically engaged'. The course was carried out by Gisele Evrard Markovic and Nik Paddison. The report of the course can be found right hand side.

The 2nd COMETS edition was successfully implemented in April 2016 in Cardiff, UK, focussing on 'Communicating meaningfully with others'. The course was carried out by Peter Hofmann and Gerald Dowden. The report of the course can be found right hand side.

The 1st COMETS edition was successfully implemented in May 2015 in Nessebar, Bulgaria, focussing on 'Intercultural Competence'. The course was carried out by the trainers Gisele Evrad Markovic and Peter Hofmann. The report of the course can be found right hand side.
