COMETS (COMpetence development European Training Strategy in the field of youth) is a one week course offered ones a year to supports advanced trainers exploring a certain competence area defined by the ETS Competence Model for Trainers.

In the context of COMETS, advanced means that the trainer-learner has the capacity to reflect on their practice as a trainer. This also implies a capacity for [self] assessment. Further guiding principles for COMETS training courses can be found right hand side.

The 1st COMETS edition was successfully implemented in May 2015 in Sofia, Bulgaria, focussing on 'Intercultural Competence'. The course was carried out by the trainers Gisele Evrad Markovic and Peter Hofmann. The report of the course can be found right hand side.

The 2nd COMETS edition was successfully implemented in April 2016 in Cardiff, UK, focussing on 'Communicating meaningfully with others'. The course was carried out by Peter Hofmann and Gerald Dowden. The report of the course will soon be added to this page.

The 3rd COMETS edition will take place from 26 April - 2 May 2017 in Dresden, Germany, focussing on 'Integrating a political dimension into the trainers’ work'. The course will be carried out by Gisele Evrard Markovic and Nik Paddison. Application deadline: 19 February 2017, find the call here.

The 4th COMETS editon is planned to take place in Austria in spring 2018, the focus will be decided at a later stage.
