SALTO Inclusion Activities in 2012

In 2012 SALTO Inclusion will continue to spread its expertise and the results of its 3 year youth (un)employment strategy.

Another hot issue for SALTO Inclusion is: social challenges in urban contexts. SALTO Inclusion will develop a 2 year strategy till the end of the current Youth in Action programme and analyse what are the issues at stake

Social Inclusion & social challenges in urban contexts

  • Developing a 2 year SALTO Inclusion strategy on 'social challenges in urban contexts': Together with stakeholders, policy makers and experts, we will combine different interventions to improve the circumstances of young people in disenfranchised (sub)urban areas.
  • Analysis of Social Challenges in Urban Contexts: SALTO inclusion will work together with a consultant/expert to map the issues at stake and make an analysis of the success factors that try to address social challenges in urban contexts.
  • "Urban Solutions Seminar": a cross-sectorial seminar bringing together local policy makers, researchers, youth in Action officers and urban youth projects to discuss social challenges in urban contexts and possible interventions. (29 May - 2 Jun 2012, UK) cooperation with UK NA
  • Long Term Training Course "Urban Youth" - coaching project phase:
A long-term training course started in December 2011, about issues urban youth are facing. In 2012, we foresee time for a practice period in which the participants set up projects with/for urban youth, with coaching from the team of trainers. Cooperation with the NA Hungary and France.

  • Bridges to Work follow up: Employability is a priority for many NAs. Therefore the Swedish NA wants to organise a follow-up activity based on Bridges to Work.
