Future perspectives for young people!

Employment is becoming in all the EuroMed area a big issue linked to the worldwide financial crisis, but also the "demographic bulge" in the Mediterranean countries and the global social incertitude. The social situation of young people on both Mediterranean sides is really challenging one and need specific competencies for better analyse and understand future perspective in the labour market and professional development.

Presentation of the activity

"Volunteering a step for employability" is a seminar focus on Voluntary work as broad concept that covers different type of activities of youth organisations and international organisations which provide frameworks and grants for international work activities targeting young people.

The seminar will analyse the role of youth facing the economical changes and the role of institutions, association, vocational training in supporting them in finding a job.

The activity will provide participants the role of Non Formal Learning as a tool and a step for employability, and give them the possibility to exchange their own experience about volunteering as active participation into society and as a tool for the recognition of the competencies developed in the Non Formal Field. The NGOs and youth organisations will compare and analyse their experiences and good practises about the role of volunteering as support measure for the employability of young people.
In fact, the volunteering could be a relevant experience of personal and professional growing of the young people. This could support him/her to define their future role and engagement into society.
The seminar will provide participants the possibility to reinforce and build new partnerships able to develop national and international strategies about volunteering projects and employability.

Aims and objectives

This activity aims to set a real opportunity for European and Mediterranean volunteering organizations to share and discuss about the role of youth in the society and in the economical life and to create reliable partnerships.

  • To promote exchange of good practices about volunteering and employability in Mediterranean and E.U. countries
  • To reinforce the cooperation between E.U and Mediterranean countries in the frame of the youth field, through the developement of networks between the participating organisations
  • To present the social situation of youth in Europe and Mediterranean countries
  • To provide participants new tools, methods to work and to develop projects within the EuroMed Youth IV programme and the Youth in Action Programme that foster the awareness of Volunteering as step for employability

  1. Organisations working and involved in Volunteering projects with young people and willing to share and reflect about the role of Volunteering as step for the employability
  2. Organisation working and involved in project about the eployabiliyty of young people

  • Travel, boarding and loading of participants will be covered.
  • The selected participants will be contacted by the organisers about their travel's cost.

Working language: Spanish and French
