TOY - Trainers Online for Youth
This is a reference for Amélie Lemarchand
This training course aimed for youth professionals to improve the quality of their Youth Exchanges, which means :
- to reach a high level of youth involvement in the project (before, during and after the activity),
- to foster intercultural learning among the group of participants ;
- to understand how to better assess and monitor the results and the impacts of the project ;
- to create long-term cooperation with the partners involved in the project.
The group of participants was composed of youth professionals from Belgium and France.The team of trainers was composed of 3 trainers also from France and Belgium.
All the activities which were implemented used the non-formal learning methods. Here are some examples of the methods used :
- Games ;
- Self-directed learning ;
- Intercultural learning ;
- Ideation ;
- Peer learning ;
- Self- and group assessment.
According to the evaluation from the participants, the training course managed to help them evaluate the quality of their youth exchanges, in terms of implementation of methodologies and tools, impact assessment, dissemination of the results, etc. It also gave them some reassurance and confidence regarding their role and responsabilities for futur youth exchanges.
More than that, they left with the feeling to be part of a community of practices in which they can find support and advice.
I was in charge of co-designing the activities for the training course and then to facilitate them with the other trainers involved in this project. I also participated in the evaluation of the training.
