International Training course - "Hero and Heroines"

The training activity took place
in Valkenburg, Netherlands
organised by Sticting International Youth Birdges
2-7 September, 2009

Aims & objectives

1)The main topic was Gender violence , to share the information about the gender issues and working experiences how to deal this problem, to fight against gender violence. To give the skill and knowledge to the participants to work with victims of Gender violence and proved them with educational materials.

2)Target group: The participants were youth leaders, workers, multipliers, trainers from Germany, Netherlands, Poland,Latvia, Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia

3) Methodology was based on non formal education:
- team-building and ice-breaking exercises and games
- study visits
- meetings and discussions with representatives of non-governmental youth organizations.
- presentations / inputs
- workshops and working groups
- simulation exercises

4) Outcome:
The project support skills, qualifications and personal development of the participants:

Empowering youth workers with knowledge of practical skills in how to organize new approaches/ methodologies in working with their target groups, how they tackle the problems and combat of domestic violence.


5)My responsibility:

I was a trainer full time, I gave inputs- presentations, different workshops connected the topic.
