“I am unemployed, but I am working on it”

Aims & objectives

The topic of the training was unemployment among young people. It was partially a methodological training for youth workers, and same time a good opportunity for the participants to explore the unemployment topic and finding partner organizations for future projects. My part was to provide the knowledge unemployment in a practical way because of my Job Club background. I run the workshops about solution focused methods, multiproblem approach, and about how to use drama methods to break through and overcome the difficulties. Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The target group was youth leaders who work with young unemployed and job-seeker people. The participants: 26 participants (17F/9M), from 16 countries.

Training methods used & main activities

We used different nonformal methods during the training: group work activities, project plannig tasks, drama methods focusin on motivation and prejudices.

Outcomes of the activity

The course gave participants the opportunity to develop projects with the support of their peers and the team. 6 months after the course:
Successes are the following - six months after the training:
50% of participants has developed one or more projects
36% of participants received Youth in Action funding for their project
36% of the projects are organised with partner organisations found on the TC Unemployment.

Your tasks and responsibilities within the team

My main part was to share my experiences in working with young unemployed people, and show different practical techniques and methods to the youth workers. I also took part in the dramatical simulation games.

I worked on this training for 5 days as a full time trainer.
