Outcomes of the activity

''Feminism the new "F-word?'' T.C worked to deconstruct the concept of Feminism and Media Manipulation by taking a closer look at how media shapes the authority of women and feeds stereotypes. We aimed to exchange experiences and methods of youth organizations involved in promoting the active use of media and critical thinking on the media among young people.
As some of the outcomes can be mentioned:
-Encouraged media literacy and critical thinking by analyzing how women are portrayed in the new media.
-Advocation on social and political women's rights.
-Evaluation and increased understanding of the role of media in our lives.
-To provide youth workers the opportunity to compare, contrast and discuss different media approaches towards women.
- Enabled workers to reflect on Human rights infringement and Sexism shown in new media.
- Support of young women to become more aware of themselves through meditation (meaning everyday participants gathered in small groups and shared/ reflected/ meditated about the lessons they've learned during that day) and sharing techniques, so that will fight discrimination based on gender in their professional life;
- Understanding how our behavior is influenced by the media and how to resist media manipulation.
- Development of Critical Thinking through Media Literacy;
- Providing youth workers with creative tools to support youth they work with, through a similar process;
- Raised awareness of the value of women on the labor market by working on their self-confidence and empowerment.
