Aims & objectives

This training aims at welcoming volunteers in their volunteering experience, to support them in their learning experience, to help them understand their role, responsabilities, and provide space for them to build a community of volunteers.

Target group & international/intercultural composition of the group & team

The training team was composed of 3 trainers coming from Portugal, Belgium and France.

Training methods used & main activities

The methods used during the training are part of the non formal education methodology :
- energizers, icebreakers;
- group building activities;
- small groups activities (research on Belgium culture, quizzes, etc).
- peer learning;
- mentoring.

Outcomes of the activity

The training was a success based on the evaluation form filled by the group of participants : they underligned that they understood better what they could do and learn from their volunteering experience, they found the training workshops useful in terms of content but also in terms of creating a sense of belonging to a wider community.
