This project aims to develop an app so that we recognize what soft skills are, which ones we have and which ones we must develop to comply with the 2030 Agenda
Soft skills are the social, emotional, problem-solving and behavioral aptitudes that allow young people to function better and obtain better results in any situation. At work, with our friends, with family, in life. But in the labor field, especially when we have no experience, it is essential to know who we are, where we come from and where we are going in the field of these soft skills. In a typical job interview we are often asked about our strengths. And our answer to that question is or should be our main soft skills.
It is more comfortable and safe for us to talk about how we manage this or that computer application, speak languages and so on. But we have to know how to say "I am an empathetic person, a good speaker, adaptable and flexible, I know how to lead teams and I am always very punctual". That said, do young Europeans know our profile related to soft skills? And do we know what we must do to acquire or improve them?
In the study "Youth Soft Skills for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda" financed by ERASMUS + for the project 2019-2-
ES02-KA205-013399 (project that will be one of the study resources to materialize this project) the following conclusions:
"Based on the analysis of the information collected, the study concludes that the information described above provides a
relevant basis to take into account in the design and development of training plans for youth technicians and young people within the framework of Soft Skills for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. In turn, it implies that:
- To guarantee the participation of young people in matters that interest them, it is necessary to join efforts to bring the
sustainable development goals of the 2030 Agenda closer to their area of interest. In other words, bringing youth closer to
the problems and challenges in which their role as agents of change can encourage the end of poverty, climate change and
reduce inequalities.
- To create the necessary conditions for the effective participation of young people in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda, it is necessary to strengthen the skills identified as "key" in this study, which facilitates their youth advocacy role in the design and development of initiatives. in the different areas that make up the 2030 Agenda.
- To involve youth in social issues, it is important to provide and strengthen the new skills necessary to face the current and future challenges of humanity."
This project aims to develop a tool with great penetration among youth (an app) so that we recognize what soft skills are,
which ones we have and which ones we must develop not only to comply with the 2030 Agenda, but also to improve our
employability and our relationship with our environment in general.
To the aforementioned conclusions of the study we must add those obtained in the first phase of the project, thanks to the
needs survey.
The general objective of this project is to have an attractive and practical instrument for at least 500 young people of all
kinds to know, identify and reinforce our soft skills in order to improve our employability and relationships with the world in
which we live.
