Youth Step Out

Through this project, it is aimed to eradicate the “labels” of stereotypes with the aim that they will not affect into their lives or relationships.

The project is primarily focused on the life of young people from rural areas, for this reason, the project will be implemented in a rural area of London. The aims of the project are focused to reduce the stereotypes which exist among young people between rural and urban areas, by gathering young people from various backgrounds and nationalities, to collaborate together by living for 8 days in a rural area of London, sharing their ideas and knowledge to bring life to the rural areas by designing a project to empower young people.

“Youth step out” project will help young people to get out of the cage, defeat negative feelings or fears and recognised for their impact on the society, allowing young people to have healthy relationships with each other. These relationships lead to the creation of the structures that support diversity among young people by establishing safe and supportive environments.

The objectives for the youth exchange are:
• Embracing youth ideas related to the development of rural areas
• Strengthening tolerance values and respect for diversity among young people
• Understand the causes of stereotypes on young people lives.
• Explore methods to address the difficulties and challenges of the community by using critical thinking and successful models.
• Create a network of active young people who live in rural areas.
• The Project objectives links to the Erasmus+ and Youth objectives and priorities by growing and learning through mobility, providing opportunities for young people.

The seminar (Youth Worker) objectives:
• To develop project management and multicultural teamwork techniques, working in diverse cultural contexts and conditions
• To empower young people for the seminar to develop strategies and share best practices in initiatives for fostering inclusive youth participation
• To enlarge the skills of intercultural learning methodology.
• To promote the positive sides of living in a rural area among youth.
• To bring their experiences related to youth employment from their countries and to share the challenges.
• To create tools for evaluating youth participation practices of organisations.
• To assist in the creation of international empowerment of youth who live in rural areas strategy.
• To set up partnerships with various stakeholders who have a main interest in the empowerment of young people.

The participants will be able to understand the difficulties disadvantaged groups face and to share their ideas related to the way of advocating to reduce stereotypes. Through this project, the participants will get equipped with knowledge about the adverse effects of stereotypes. The participants will work in groups to create an action plan to reduce the stereotypes and their causes and raise awareness of the disadvantaged groups.

The focus of the project will be interactive explorations and introductions of caused effects of stereotypes. As a result, our partnering organisation will get valuable information related to the empowerment for a positive change, to develop a plan for a system which will increase youth participation in the creation of a youth network of youngsters who invest in rural areas.

Our partnering organisation will develop the capacity of active involvement to resolve conflicts. Also, at the end of the project, a website will be created to provide information related to the implementation process of the project and also the results of it. They will be more able to find suitable strategies, to develop campaigns and dialogues with stakeholders that are necessary for youth initiatives which boost youth empowerment. Also, they will be more aware of the information which youth has on the causes and effects of stereotypes.
