Seminar to explore youth mobility and migration in the EU & neighbouring countries using different social, political and economical filters. UK 2014

- Aims and objectives
Fostering reflection on different dimensions of migration and mobility. Theoretical framework of migration.
Exchange of experience and good practice in youth work, related to international/local migration and mobility.
Preparing youth workers and youth leaders in addressing the challenges and opportunities resulting from migration.
Raising the competence of youth workers and youth leaders about the push and pull factors of migration.
To understand the EU policies towards migration and mobility and local realities.
Improving competence on different (youth) mobility opportunities in Europe and Neighbours.
Promoting European cooperation between youth organisations promoting youth mobility and support youth engagement with immigrant backgrounds in our organisations.
Develop new initiatives in the field of migration & mobility for young people within the framework of Erasmus+ and CoE

- Methodology
The working methods of the seminar are non-formal and based on participants' participation (learning centered). For this we let the participants set their learning goals in the beginning of seminar and reflect the outcomes every day.

Each partner organisation sends 2-3 representatives. The approach of the Seminar will thus be very collaborative, and include elements of training course, seminar and partnership-building activity.

Participants will have the opportunity to get new or deepen their knowledge in youth migration & mobility, share best practises with their colleagues and spent quality time for introspection and reflection of their work and future collaborations. They will learn how to work within their communities and how to use different tools and techniques, working with young migrants in their local communities.

- Activities
We will use small and big group discussions, role-plays, forum theatre elements, quizzes, meetings with local migrants and local council, artistic workshops, self-evaluation, work in pairs and other non-formal methods which are suitable for this target group. It is crucial that participants will learn from each other, and exchange their ideas to gain new knowledge, skills and attitudes during all activities .
