YOUTH MATTERS NOW (NETWORK)

YOUTH MATTERS NOW is a project proposal under the YiA Programme (Action 4.3) for the creation of a Network of organizations dealing with social inclusion and specially with young offenders, ex young offenders and those at risk of offending.
This project is born due to the fact that some youth workers in Murcia (Spain) currently working within the Prison of Campos del Río have realized about the very limited amount of resources and experiences when it comes to work with non-formal education and young people within the prison. We need to share those experiences, we need to discover new approaches and also to share ours with other people in the field of social inclusion and particularly with those working with young offenders, ex offenders or at risk of offending.
With the time we have developed an interesting amount of different activities and methods to work with this target in such context like prisons and we are convinced that these resources could be combined with others from other organizations and together could define a powerful syllabus for other people to work.
With this long term project (12 months) we would like to coordinate a joint effort related to the sharing of experiences among those involved in this kind of youth work, as well as to create new resources that contribute to the improvement of the quality of youth work and particularly that one implemented within the field of social inclusion.
The project foresees a couple of coordination meetings in Spain and in other partner country as well as the preparation of some pedagogic materials about social inclusion of young people at risk.
