The project is targeted at youth workers who are active in youth initiatives and wish to maximize their impact in their local communities.
Most youth organisations today express the need to benefit from the implementation of past projects without having to start from scratch every time they plan a new project. This is a training course that will bring together youth workers in order to explore ways to increase the impact of youth projects within their organisations and their communities. The participants will be guided to explore the potentials of non-formal education in creating original projects in order to address the needs of young people. Special focus will be given in the enhancement of ICT (information communication technologies) skills in order not only to coordinate (international) projects but also to multiply their impact. The participants will discover ways to use open source software and the social media in order to maximise the influence of their work and to promote well- being and healthy behaviors of the youth. A guide for dissemination and exploitation of results will be created with the contribution of all the trainees.
By augmenting key competences along with transversal skills, the participants will make a better utilisation of non-formal education and will raise the visibility of their projects. This way they will support their own target groups, in particular young people with fewer opportunities (i.e. young people from remote or rural areas, young people in unemployment), in becoming more effective and more visible. The outcome of the training course is expected to have a strong multiplication effect.
