Key Action 3 : Structured Dialogue under Support For Policy Reform aims to hold meetings between young people and decision-makers in the field of youth.
Structured Dialogue is the name used for discussions between young people and youth policy-makers in order to obtain results which are useful for policy-making. Some of the priorities in framework of this programme, are to promote the active participation of young people in democratic life in Europe and their interaction with decision makers.
Some objectives of our project are; to be able to provide the active participation of the youth to the politics, bring them together with decision-makers, research why the average age of members is generally over 50 and discuss all aspects of this situation with youngsters.
The average age of Turkish Grand National Assembly is 51,6. According to the results of elections in 2011, there are only 19 members of parliament under 40 years old among 550 members. The average age of European Parliament is 55 and the average age of representatives is 57. The young population between 20-35 ages is 19.044.025 and 25.327.536 people is under the age of 18 (they dont have right to vote and stand for election) in our country. Totally 44.371.561 persons are under the age of 40 but we have only 19 members of parliament under the age of 40. The population between 35-70 ages is just 28.450.007 but the members of parliament between these ages are 520 MPs.
