Who we are

“Novo kulturno naselje” (NKN) is an association founded in 2014 in Novi Sad, Serbia. The main mission of NKN is the establishment of a Culture Center in Novo Naselje, a part of town with a population of over 40,000 residents.
NKN has been working for years on developing and implementing cultural content in Novi Sad. The goal of the organization is raising awareness of the need to promote and affirm artists, highlighting the need for a Culture Center at Novo Naselje, as well as generally spreading cultural awareness in Novo Naselje and the entire city of Novi Sad. In that way, cultural activities would be decentralized, while the number of art and culture consumers would increase. In the past 4 years NKN has done large number of different events, programs and projects, such as: Theatre festival “Aplauz fest”, movie festival “21114”, art festival “Dobro došli na Naselje”, various art & educational workshops, publication of handbook “Road to Culture center”, and many, many others. By creating programs, events, workshops, etc, in "familiar" venues such as parks, open spaces, and public streetscapes, inclusion of community is a great way of making things happen - making new history together!
