YOUTH, GENDER VARIANCE AND SOCIAL INCLUSION

A 5-days seminar for youth workers and volunteers engaged in actualizing, in schools, strategies for social inclusion of youth challenging gender stereotypes.

The present project aims at realizing a 5-days seminar directed to those youth workers and volunteers who, operating in nonprofit organizations dealing with sexual identity and transgender issues, are/can be engaged in actualizing strategies for social inclusion of gender variant youth, through training programs in the schools. The seminar will include participants and facilitators from different countries, in order to provide a platform for discussion and exchange of experiences and good practices for training programs (focused on fostering the inclusion of different sexual identities, reducing discrimination and sexual stigma, and combating school drop-out) performed in the schools.
Before the seminar there will be a preparation phase, in which each partner will prepare short reports about the average learning needs of the schools in their countries and the used training strategies. During the seminar different working groups will be created, each one discussing about the learning needs and trainings at school. The seminar will end with a plenary session and a round table aimed at creating a European network of organizations which, in each country, will take care of training in the schools as regards the issue of social inclusion of all sexual identities.
