YOUTH FRONT -trace YOUr identity to cross THe FRONTiers

The project aims to investigate the perception of the concept of frontier in young Europeans, strenghtening their awareness of values of identity and diversity

Every piece of reality has a boundary in itself, it’s up to us to perceive it and try to overcome it by transforming borders into frontiers, in opportunities to move beyond the self and get closer to what is different from us. The concepts are themselves ways of tracing mental boundaries, so that even the way we formulate the concept of frontier may depend on our choice of the concept of border and therefore frontier; what we recognize as a frontier may depend on whether the boundary of our concept of boundary is clear or confused, etc. The project aims to investigate the perception of the concept of frontier in young Europeans, starting from the question "what is the frontier for you?" and accompanying them on a journey to define their own identity to prepare them for meeting and comparison with other identities; in sum, to trace the boundaries of oneself to transform them into frontiers towards others. This will allow young people to feel part of a community (the European one) by strengthening their awareness of the value of their identity and therefore of diversity in a perspective of tolerance and integration. To support and involve young participants in this process, our project will mainly use the methodology of the theater of the oppressed and urban gaming.
