Background
Differences in gender roles and behaviours often create inequalities, whereby one gender becomes empowered to the disadvantage of the other. Thus, in many societies, women are viewed as subordinate to men and have a lower social status, allowing men control over, and greater decision-making power than, women
The course is designed to provide democratic space for debate, reflection and development of competence on gender equality and gender based violence thought youth work and youth policy.
It will include:
• Introduction to concepts and methods of gender equality used in youth work contexts;
• Critical assessments of the role of culture and level of awareness in the appearance and determination of gender based violence;
• Reflection on the role of promoting the intercultural approaches to gender based violence in the youth work and youth policy;
• Confrontation and discussion of different approaches to intercultural learning and gender based violence related with participants experiences;
• Stimulating critical opinions on why it is important, and how to use the approaches related in gender based violence
Partners will have to send 2-3 people in the training.
Financial conditions
The organizer will provide board, lodging and program costs during entire training. Travel costs will be covered in accordance with the European distance calculator.
