"YOUTH + ERASMUS+"

The project is aimed at training youth specialists and organizing the Informative Seminar to supply interested young people with the information about ERASMUS+

An intelligent, educated and well-provided for youth is the key to Latvia’s and Europe’s successful future. Unfortunately, the statistics is not promising. With every passing year the number of young Latvians graduating secondary school is decreasing. In Latvia and other European countries only elementary school is obligatory, and a great percentage of elementary school graduates do not choose continue with their formal education. With such a low level of formal education it is very difficult and sometimes even impossible to integrate into the modern workforce, which is demanding high level of education and practical skills.
Non-formal education, training and youth specialists’ activities play a key role in providing young people with the necessary skills and education to actively participate in the labour market and in society at large.
The program ERASMUS+ can help Latvia’s and Europe’s youth to develop their sense of European citizenship, using all possible opportunities the European Union offers.
The main problem is that Latvia’s and Europe’s youth is not aware of the possibilities and opportunities provided by Europe. These opportunities are available to all, but without information - there is no activity and no results. It is imperative to inform youth of all social layers and all ages. The providers of the necessary information can be other young people, peers. That is why youth specialists are like a link between local youth and global information of youth opportunities.
