International youth exchange empowering young people with sustainable living skills through nonformal learningenvironmental action and intercultural cooperation
Youth in Action: Sustainable Living Skills is an international Youth Exchange project aiming to raise young people’s awareness and competencies in environmental sustainability, environmental protection, and responsible living through non-formal learning and youth work practices. The project brings together young people from different countries to foster a shared understanding of environmental challenges, encourage the exchange of good practices, and support the development of sustainable behaviours in their daily lives.
Within the scope of the project, non-formal education methods will be applied to address key topics such as environmental sustainability, climate change, sustainable consumption, waste reduction and recycling, energy and water efficiency, eco-friendly lifestyles, and the protection of local ecosystems. Through interactive workshops, hands-on environmental activities, field visits, intercultural learning sessions, and daily reflection activities, participants will be actively involved in experiential learning processes.
The project aims not only to enhance participants’ knowledge of environmental issues but also to strengthen essential life skills, including critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and active citizenship. Intercultural interaction will contribute to the development of mutual understanding, European citizenship awareness, and motivation for international cooperation among young people.
In conclusion, the project seeks to empower young people as environmentally conscious, responsible, and socially active individuals who are able to integrate sustainable practices into their everyday lives, while ensuring long-term impact and a multiplier effect at local and international levels through the dissemination of project outcomes.
