Across Europe, young people increasingly express distance from democratic institutions and limited trust in public decision-making. Many feel that democracy is abstract, inaccessible, or disconnected from everyday realities. At the same time, core European values such as human dignity, equality, solidarity, participation, and rule of law face challenges related to disinformation, social polarisation, and low civic engagement among youth. This project responds to the need for spaces where young people can critically explore democratic values, reflect on their role within Europe, and strengthen confidence to participate actively in their communities.
The project aims to strengthen democratic awareness, civic responsibility, and value-based participation among young people, encouraging them to see democracy as a lived practice rather than a distant political concept.
