YOUNG MUSIC FEST

Our project,"Young Music Fest", is a place to stay and grow. Where the place is not physical but it is a place of mental and concrete meeting. However, the space where this project will be located is a space full of meaning. It will take place at the Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa, Palermo. Imagining the music that came from the overlapping of the languages ​​spoken in the city over the centuries, the "Young Music Fest" wants to tell through music and writing texts, a cultural contamination that aims at the integration and personal and global growth of everyone , with the aggregative, spontaneous and participatory value of Music, widely known.
The workshop will be realized according to the most modern approaches to the education and training of young people, that is, overturning the image of a formal education that provides for a certain hierarchical and emotional distance between the learner and teacher. In this workshop, which aligns with the principles and values ​​of the European Union, the participants will be teachers and learners at the same time, in fact the training will be non-formal and everyone will know how to influence others and be influenced, will be able to teach and to learn. Here the workshop will be conducted independently by young people for young people, as equals, with a view to mutual improvement, with acquisition and donation of skills and practical and theoretical information on the production of a song, which will be composed by music and lyrics. The theme of the song will focus on enhancing, as Palermo has done over the centuries of its history, on the beauty and growth of the encounter and cultural contamination, starting from an exchange of ideas and information, and a study conducted on traditional music, on their structure, on their technique, on the themes that deal with their texts. The participants in the project will be called by four countries of the European Union and will follow a path destined for musical production with a view to a mutual exchange of traditions of their country of origin. At the end, as well as a contest, it is expected to produce a choral piece that will become the hymn of cultural mixing. The contest aims to encourage the initiative, to get involved with energy and passion, according to the rules and benefits of constructive, healthy and "sporty" competition. In fact, the participants who best know how to mix and integrate, even in the song form, will be rewarded. An excellent starting point for their production will be the great event that takes place every year on June 21 for the Music Festival, so it is thought to match the exchange period with this event. The association "Rock 10 e lode", which is proposed in the initiative, has twenty years of experience in the training and enhancement of the talent of young musicians, and would be happy to extend its project to a European level, for which it is seeking partner for its realization.
