Young European Ambassadors

EVS Project "Young European Ambassadors" was initiated by Asociacion Cultural Muxelka together with APA Xanela del CEIP María Pita from A Coruña, Spain.

The programme aims to foster European awareness and active citizenship and promotion of culturas and languages amongst youngest Europeans, while increasing their knowledge of European countries, and knowlegde of their parents about educational programmes mobility programmes and institutions.
The idea is to invite to Coruña an international volunteers to support the organization of ativities devoted to promotion of cultures and languages of the Community.
The project is aimed at providing a promotion of the European Union, non-formal education and intercultural learning opportunities to young people from A Coruña but also a volunteers fromRussia. It is part of a current local project of the coordinating and receiving organization Asociación Cultural Muxelka (www.muxelka.org) that mainly works on increasing European awareness at the local level.
Sending organization involved is: VIA e.V. - Verein für internationalen und interkulturellen Austausch from Germany.
This project includes two EVS volunteers to be hosted in the project in A Coruña, Spain in APA Xanela del CEIP María Pita coordinated by Muxelka Association. An individual Service lasts for 9 months starting in October 2017.
Target group of this project are children and youth from 3 to 15 (and their parents) from the A Coruña and whole Galicia, while the activities include various workshops in the foreign languages and European awareness.
Main objectives of the EVS Project:
- To increase European awareness at the local level (children&youth)
- To promote of the European Union and its educative programmes (Erasmus+ Programme);
- To promote diversity of Europe, its culture and languages;
- To exchange of European art, culture, tradition and customs between the regions.

Volunteers will have an opportunity to:
- promote the European Union and its educative programmes;
- animation of collective information meetings
- animating of language activities for children and youth,
- leading intercultural and linguistic workshops
- creating of communication materials on mobility
- networking with former volunteers
- discovering the local cultural life (participation in cultural activities)
- presenting his/her country in everyday conversation and on special occasions (exhibition, international dinner...)

Methods that will be used are: workshops, discussions, consults, games, brainstorming, work in groups, individual work, blogging etc.
