You 4 Youth

Consejoven is looking for 2 volunteers for a duration of 1 year starting in January 2018. We are looking for volunteers who are interested to work in our programmes of Communication & PR and Promotion of Erasmus+ (1 volunteer) and Youth participation & Education (1 volunteer). The project will take place in Ciudad Real, Spain.

Consejoven - Consejo Local de la Juventud - The Local Youth Council of Ciudad Real is an independent representation and participation body of young people from Ciudad Real, formed by local and provincial associations. Our main activities consist of supporting youth associations and young people through projects and meetings that we organize, facilitating the contact between youth and local authorities and informing young people about the Erasmus+ programme.

The project will help the volunteers to increase their personal and professional skills through participating in the different activities organised by the associations involved in our project, as well as through the opportunities that they have to propose and implement new ideas for the development of our association.

Our volunteers will be involved in all the activities organised by our organisation, such as youth meetings, events and workshops, as well as maintaining the communication with local associations and increasing the visibility of our activities. They will also be involved in non-formal projects and activities organised by our collaborating associations that work with local children and youth, including disadvantaged groups or minorities.

We want to help our volunteers to be better prepared for the world market and the promotion of social change, so during the project they will have the opportunity to improve in many areas, such as: interpersonal and communication skills, language skills, knowledge about a different culture and more.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements will be provided by Consejoven.
Our volunteers will be hosted in apartment that is located in the center area, and also close to our office. Each volunteer will have his/her own bedroom. All the costs for accommodation will be covered by Consejoven.
Each volunteer will receive 150€ for food and 105€ pocket money per month.

Training during the project
Consejoven will be responsible for on-arrival-orientation, enrollment of the EVS volunteer in the on-arrival & mid-term training, and for language support.

Volunteer´s profile

Our volunteers should:
- be between 18 and 30 years old
- be motivated to take part in this project for the entire duration
- demonstrate flexibility, attention to detail, good communication skills, initiative, empathy, assertiveness, openness to get to know and work with different people from different cultures
- be interested in learning and developing their skills in communication, media and event organisation and also in organising leisure, education, cultural and social activities with young people and children
- be open to working with persons from various groups, including disadvantaged people and minorities
- be interested in learning the Spanish language and discovering the Spanish culture
- be able to present a clear criminal record (solicited by the Spanish National Agency in order to be able to work with youth and children)
Experience in these fields would be a plus, as would be some knowledge of the Spanish language, of youth policy, law or international relations, although they are not strictly required.

This project particularly welcomes applications from young volunteers who face barriers to employment, economic difficulties, geographical or social isolation.
