Youth Exchange focused on food waste reduction, sustainable consumption and youth action for climate protection.
The project addresses food waste as a social, environmental and economic challenge, linking everyday habits to global issues such as climate change, resource depletion and social inequality. Through non-formal education, participants will explore how food systems work, why food is wasted, and how young people can actively contribute to more sustainable and responsible lifestyles.
The programme will include:
-interactive workshops on food waste, sustainable consumption and circular economy
-group discussions and simulations on climate change and responsible lifestyles
-practical zero-waste activities (food audits, sustainable cooking, reuse practices)
-intercultural learning, reflection sessions and Youthpass processes
-preparation of local follow-up actions and dissemination activities
Participants will co-create a Youth-Friendly Digital Handbook on Food Waste Reduction, collecting methods, activities, recipes and awareness tools developed during the exchange.
Target group - youth - 18-26 with big focus on young people with fewer opportunities. Interested in sustainability, environmental issues, climate action and community engagement.
