Y-LEARN: Youth Workers Learning from Experience to Advance Practice

We are looking for 3 experienced European youth work organisations to join a KA153 Youth Workers Mobility project focused on strengthening the quality and professional practice of everyday youth work.

About our organisation and the project:

Our affiliated institutions regularly work with young people who have fewer opportunities aged 13–18 through sports, cultural activities, outdoor activities, camps, peer meetings, educational and cultural visits and other non-formal activities.

We already have substantial experience in delivering youth activities. Our development need is not to learn how to organise more activities, but to strengthen how existing activities are transformed into intentional, participatory, learning-oriented and reflective youth work.

What are we looking for?

We are particularly interested in organisations that can demonstrate practical experience in several of the following areas:

- needs-based youth work and activity planning;
- intentional non-formal learning;
- meaningful youth participation;
- youth feedback and participatory evaluation;
- youth worker reflection and peer reflection;
- using feedback/evidence to improve subsequent activities;
- inclusive youth work and work with young people with fewer opportunities;
- experiential, outdoor or social youth work.

What makes our partner search specific?

We are not primarily looking for a just theoretical training provider or an organisation that can solely give a presentation about youth work.

We are looking for a practice-based learning partner where our youth workers can:

- observe real youth work activities;
- shadow experienced youth workers;
- discuss why and how particular methods are used;
- observe how young people's needs and feedback influence activities;
- explore how youth workers reflect on their practice;
- understand how reflection leads to changes in subsequent youth work.

A strong candidate should be able to show real examples of practice, not only general statements or written methodologies.

What can we offer?

We bring a large and diverse youth work practice from a public social services context in Türkiye and are interested in genuine European peer learning and long-term professional cooperation.

The cooperation would focus on job shadowing, study visit, peer learning and professional exchange rather than a traditional classroom-based training.

After the mobility, the approaches learned will be tested in different youth activities in Türkiye and evaluated as part of our organisational development process.

Important:
At the first stage, we are interested in quality and mutual fit rather than the number of previous Erasmus+ projects.
