Would You Survive? Training Course - Latvia, Poland & Estonia

After the experience of the first edition, “Would You Survive?” youth exchange and an extensive literature review on the management of natural and man-made disasters in Europe, it became evident that, beyond the urgency of preparing the population for these events, there exists a critical need to properly equip youth workers, trainers and educators for the effective delivery of such education initiatives. The specific objectives of the project are:
- Enhance the adaptability of 30 youth workers from 6 different countries by providing comprehensive training in versatile survival skills, applicable across diverse contexts, including outdoor navigation, first aid and shelter preparation, among others.
- Empower 30 youth workers from 6 different countries with the capability to strategize and execute initiatives focused on disaster risk reduction (DRR) and disaster education. This includes exploring management practices, disaster phases, providing facilitation tips for disaster-focused activities and offering guidance on risk mitigation considerations for designing safe activities.
- Equip 30 youth workers from 6 different countries with engaging non-formal teaching methods tailored for integrating disaster education into their youth work practice, through disaster-related scenarios, team-oriented tasks, interactive presentations, hands-on practice and simulations.

The project aims to bring together 30 youth workers, trainers or educators from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Slovakia, Romania. The project is scheduled to take place in Lithuania, end of September- Beginning of October, 2024.
