This youth exchange aims to focus attention on the importance of freshwater through youth creativity and open-air photo exhibition.
Since you are a person who cares about the Mother Nature, freshwater and its importance, cooperation aimed at its preservation, wants to know how to voice the current problems through creative photos and wants to gain theoretical knowledge about photo making and obtain useful skills, that is why this youth exchange is just for you.
“World Water for Youth” (WWATERY) is a youth exchange organized by “Serund Pan-Armenian Youth Center’’, a youth organization where people develop their leadership and organizational capacity through team work and exchange of experience.
At present we witness that water resources become fewer and fewer and care towards their preservation becomes less and less. WWATERY is a 15-day youth exchange bringing together 50 representatives from 10 different countries.
The aim of the project is to focus attention on the importance of freshwater through youth creativity and open-air photo exhibition. 2005-2015 is the international decade for action “Water for life” and with that event Armenia also longs to have its part in global movement for sustainable management of freshwater resources on local and international level. The youth exchange is a platform to showcase and celebrate the talent and creative diversity of youth individuals and groups within photo and video shooting on the topic of freshwater importance.
The project carries message on water which means that participants will be given practical information about importance of freshwater and water cooperation. Also within the frames of this project you will find a special non-formal educational package dedicated to photo shooting and video making. Besides theory and practice, the participants will also have the chance of “tasting, smelling, feeling and seeing” the rich and various water sources of Armenia which are mainly historical and sightseeing places.
