WHY THIS PROJECT?
6% of all farm holdings in the EU are run by farmers under 35 years old.
11% of European farmers are under the age of 40 years old.
And only 28% of farms in the EU are managed by a woman.
[Eurostat]
"Achieving equality between women and men is a precondition for sustainable agricultural production and rural development, achieving food security, and elimination of poverty." [FAO]
WHAT DO WE WANT TO DO IN THIS PROJECT?
Searching for good business models to encourage girls to work in agriculture.
TARGET GROUPS?
direct: youth workers of organisations active in the agrifood sector or working with women in rural area
indirect: women from rural territories 18-30 years old
TIMING?
August 2020 - July 2022

1) Kick-off meeting

2) Study visits

Every two months
2 participants/partner + 1 HU journalist + 1 HU photographer, videomaker
5+2 days
* Day 1 - arrivals
* Day 2 - presentation of the situation of the country
* Day 3-4-5 - visiting 3 female farmers
* Day 6 - evaluation of the visits
* Day 7 - departures
3) Conference

We are looking for partners from EU member countries!
