Will You Look Through My Viewfinder?

This project will raise young people's awareness about mentally disabled youngs. Participants will be mentoring the disabled youngs by helping how to take photo

With this project we aim to make young people love the art of photography and to raise their awareness about mentally disabled students. We also aim to enhance the visual perception of mentally disabled students, to make them develop their perspective by the help of the art of photography. these two aims will be provided by bringing the youngs and the disabled youngs together under the roof of the art of photography.
After having some training about photography young people will cooperate with mentally disabled students and help them how to take photos. They will have several photo taking excursions to local areas. During these excursions young people will be mentoring, helping the disabled youngs and teaching them how to take photos at a basic level. At the end of the session an exhibition with the phographs that the mentally disabled students took will be organised. As a result it will be understood that mentally disabled students also have some skills. With all this social activities (photo taking excursions, organising exhibitions with the outcomes) social awareness about special education and the integration of mentally disabled students to social life will be enabled. At the same time mentally disabled students, despite their mental and physical disabilities will have developed their perspectives by this cooperation with young people via the the art of photography
