Youth exchange on climate resilience and disaster response. Join us to empower youth through workshops, simulations, and environmental action.
We are looking for partners for our Erasmus+ project “When Nature Calls,” a youth exchange focused on building resilience and climate change adaptation through experiential learning. The project will take place in rural or semi-urban areas in Italy, specifically in regions affected by extreme weather events like floods, landslides, fires, and droughts.
Project Overview:
Duration: 7 days of activities, 9 days in total (including travel days).
Target Group: Youth aged 18-26 from different European countries, including young people with fewer opportunities, particularly from rural areas or climate-vulnerable regions.
Objectives:
Increase awareness of natural disasters and climate change.
Develop practical skills in crisis management and resilience.
Promote media literacy and critical thinking, especially around fake news during emergencies.
Empower youth as active citizens and leaders in their communities.
Main Activities:
Workshops on climate change, disaster risk reduction, and resilience strategies.
Crisis simulations with roles like mayor, volunteer, technician, and communicator.
Field visits to disaster-stricken areas, meeting with climatologists, ecologists, and civil protection volunteers.
Environmental volunteer activities like trail cleaning, tree planting, and waste collection.
Why Participate:
This project will provide youth with hands-on experience in crisis management, leadership, and resilience. Participants will also engage in creating educational materials such as a crisis simulation card game and a toolkit for climate adaptation.
We are looking for organizations with experience in non-formal education, environmental sustainability, and media literacy to join this impactful project.
