Volunteca - Volunteers in Public Library in Support of Youth Community

VOLUNTECA is an innovative volunteering project designed by Youth on The Move association and Valcea County Public Library.
We are looking for eight young volunteers from four different Erasmus+ Programe Countries that are willing to work for one year in Romania, Ramnicu Valcea City with youngsters in the Public Library and outside on themes like: school abandon, youth unemployment, tolerance and discrimination.
A special partnership have been created between our organization (an enthusiastic ngo) and the County Public Library ( an historic and deeply rooted in the community institution) in order to create a positive impact in the community, especially among the youngsters with fewer opportunities, struggling to find a proper job or on the verge of abandoning school.
Our project is aiming those communities, and will involve a number of eight volunteers that will be directly involved in social and cultural activities with our target group.
Some of the main activities foreseen during the project are related to:
- Organizing weekly workshops about employment and unemployment of young people using various and innovative non formal education methods
- Working with young people from the community in strong partnership with the public library in fields like preventing school abandon, discrimination, social inclusion.
- Preparing media campaigns in support of this ideas and creating communication strategies
- Volunteering inside the organization alongside local volunteers in various office tasks
