By means of “Ebru”, our main objective is to help disadvantaged pupils expressing themselves, their feelings. And to create sensibility.
Dear potential partners,
We are the teachers of Mevlana Vocational School in İstanbul, Turkey. Our school has got 1256 students and 76 teachers. Also, we have many disadvantaged students in our school. We are planning to have a Mobilitiy of Youth Project.
The main theme of our Project is Turkish Marbling, Ebru. Ebru technique consists of sprinkling colours containing a few drops of ox-gall on to the surface of the bath sized with kitre (gum tragacanth) in a trough. By carefully laying the paper over the bath, the floating picture on top of it is readily transferred to the paper; thus, each ebru is a one of a kind print. To obtain beautiful ebru results, one needs to have a light hand, refined taste, and an open mind to the unexpected patterns forming on the water. Patience and a good knowledge of traditional culture are characteristic of ebru masters.
By means of “Ebru”, our main objective is to help disadvantaged pupils expressing themselves, their feelings. And to create sensibility. Also, they are going to have an idea about intercultural learning and sharing ideas using art.
The name of the Project: The secret of Water hides in Handicaps.
Our Project activities planned to last 5 days.
Number of the participants: 5 students (aged 14-18) and a group leader.
Place of the Project: Prince Islands, Istanbul, Turkey.
