URGENT CALL FOR PARTNERS! SPOKENWORD POETRY YOUTH EXCHANGE

Spokenword involves performance-based poetry that focuses on the authentic life experience of the author. The art of spokenword has existed for many millenia. The tradition of the spokenword is particular to cultures around the world when oral traditions were the means to pass on the knowledge to the future generations: ancient Greeks, African communities, American black neighbourhood etc.

We use Spokenword Poetry as a development method to give young people a voice, and to inspire them to feel that their vision about life is valuable, necessary and significant for the community. We use it to develop critical thinking about the world they are living in and about their own existence.
