Urban Arts for Europe: Youth for Peace

The project “Urban Arts for Europe: Youth for Peace” will bring together young people interested in media and the arts from 5 European countries to exchange their views on the future of Europe, on the role that Europe can play in the peace, discuss, express their feelings and communicate their ideas through the arts and media.
They will jointly develop artistic creations on the theme of war and peace and the future of Europe: paintings, drawings, video-films, multi-media installations and works of art will be presented to the public in the context of the fifth edition of the Festival of the image and word "the Valley of Stories" to be held in Vallefiorita July of 2017.

The young participants will meet in a creative process that will enhance the strengths of each participant. Young people will experience cultural diversity as a source of wealth, proposing, through the artistic realizations their idea of peace, of the world and brotherhood. In this creative process they will be accompanied by artists and professionals of the arts and the media, with experience in the work of non-formal education with international groups, favoring social and intercultural learning, as well as the participation of each of the participants.

The participants will be given the chance to join workshops by professional experts to increase their competencies in arts and media. Those who are on a advanced competency level already will also be given the chance to offer own workshops for other participants and for the general public visiting the fifth edition of the Festival.

They will have the chance to present their creations in the professional framework of festival to a large audience during the days, specially equipped for them.

During the project we will organize different workshops with the idea to develop the capacity of cooperation, listening and certainly the capacities for taking the initiative and take the active role in society. This project of youth exchange in Italy is only a part of one bigger idea to continue with exchanging ideas and meeting different societies. In the future we plan to organize one project in the partner's countries. But it is not the only idea to create the exchange projects it is also to involve the young people to be active in their local societies as a active member of their associations, as a active volunteers

After the exchange, results will be published on the project website and on Youtube and disseminated via Facebook, Twitter and other social media tools. There will be a evaluation meeting in Vallefiorita. Also, project and evaluation results will be discussed with the international partners. The group will stay in contact through a closed Facebook group. Each partner will schedule the presentation of the project results in special initiatives that will organize in their own territory
