Fashion industry accounts for 10% of global carbon emissions, with over 85% of textiles ending up in landfills annually - it's time to Upcycle our Lifes
Fast fashion is using up natural resources, harming the environment, and creating lots of waste. Brands like Shein, H&M and Zara make cheap clothes very quickly, which makes people, especially young ones, buy more than they actually need. This way of shopping is not good for the planet and is causing serious damage.
The project is planned to take place from 30th of June till 9th of July, 2025 and involve 45 participants from 5 countries.
Aim: To educate young people about the importance of sustainable fashion, reducing consumerism, and adopting responsible consumption habits.
Objectives:
1. Raise awareness about the environmental and social impact of fast fashion, promoting sustainable alternatives.
2. Encourage participants to adopt slow fashion practices, such as second-hand shopping and DIY clothing repair.
3. Equip young people with the tools to make more informed, responsible fashion choices in their daily lives.
4. Spread the message of sustainable fashion through youth exchanges and social media campaigns, fostering a wider understanding of ethical consumption.
