Untitled souvenirs consists in 12 days project: young emerging artists coming from 5 countries of the European Community, with a total of 20 participants, will be invited to participate in this project. The logic of the project is similar to the practice of the art's residence, key step for the artist’s training, but often it's not permitted unto them due to the social, cultural or political state of the country of residence. Untitled souvenirs offers to those people who have the right requirements to participate, the opportunity to know the cultural ferments of other nations, to share and learn new practices and useful tools to their training, to improve their communication's skills comparing themselves with multiculturalism, to find new partnership and to enlarge their horizons and professional contacts.
In a climate that encourages the juvenile aggregation and the cultural exchanges, the project will go deep in contemporary arts, into its mechanisms, into methodologies and business among an open and productive dialogue.
The use of technological tools and new expressive media represents one of the most important point of the training together with the use of traditional techniques, encouraging a logic of promotion of the peculiarities that identify every culture, in contrast with the globalizing tendency of cultural leveling.
The project Untitled souvenirs is structured on learning's performance processes, a multidirectional knowledge exchange between participants and organizers, on the themes of employment, career's perspectives, and active share in the society through the artistic research, self empowerment and consolidation of the European awareness, to be open to the introduction of new practices inherent to educational behaviours and future vocational training profiles.
The activities of the training will be developed following the method of non formal education, and the project will be divided into two separate steps:
the first one will be the mutual knowledge and consolidation of the teamwork's dynamics, as well as the understanding of the purpose of the project.
The second one will become a real workshop: through the exploration of the territory will be created an artistic project performed in choral way or by groups according to the selected subject.
Activities will be directed by an experienced trainer in the first part of the project and, in the second part, from an accredited independent art's curator, Francesco Lucifora, and also manager of the activities place: C.o.C.A. (center of contemporary arts), a library – archive specialized in the contemporary art, history and philosophy and also place of artistic research and experimentation, active since 2010 and supported by the city of Modica.
Before its realization, Untitled souvenirs will be promoted through the insertion in the city's events calendar and in the planning of the C.o.C.A. . Some press will be sent to the main local, national and specialized art magazines and after this, web pages promoting the project will be created on the main social networks.
A daily diary will be compiled as a report of the daily activities; it will also be synchronized with the web platform and a video diary shot by the participants, with the purpose to spontaneously record impressions and experiences day by day. The video and papery material will be useful for the final evaluation of the project and after a postproduction’s work it will be useful also for the project's promotion.
The final part of the project will be the restitution, from the artists to the city, of a cultural product in form of an artistic work in a designed place, where the artistic community of the territory, galleries, collectors and press will be invited. During the activities the participants will have some talk with the affirmed artists of the territory, as an opportunity of comparison and to achieve a greater awareness of the present mechanisms in the artistic career. Tours to art galleries, museums and foundations will be proposed too as an occasion to find new contacts and future collaborations.
The main purpose of Untitled souvenirs is to create a net-working, among the artists collaboration, working together for the future's clients, so that we hope these new synergies will be able to overcome the difficulties that happen along the way of their affirmation and realization, and finally to spread this practice when came back to their own countries and make “untitled souvenirs” a considerable tool in Europe at the service of the young excellences.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SELECTION OF CANDIDATES

motivation to participate;

artistic curriculum;

quality and innovation of artistic research (performed with a short presentation of their work);

team work ability;

basic knowledge of English language;

* There are no age limits but will be favoured younger candidates.

The project will be applied in February 4th, being a Key Action of Erasmus + Program.
We need 5 interested partners. Board and lodging are totally covered for 4 participants. Travel costs are covered according with new rules.
