A Training Course equipping youth workers with non-formal media literacy tools to combat disinformation, mentor young creators and run local critical workshops.
The overarching aim of this Training Course is to build capacity and enhance the professional competencies of youth workers and educators, equipping them with practical methodologies, digital tools, and non-formal educational frameworks to develop critical media literacy, combat disinformation, and navigate narrative framing in their daily work with young people.
Our mission is to empower youth workers to evolve from passive consumers into active facilitators of critical thinking. By mastering journalism fundamentals, crisis simulation design, and media analysis techniques, participants will be prepared to guide young people toward responsible content creation, ethical digital participation, and resilience against manipulation in digital environments.
Project Objectives
Disinformation & Bias Countermeasures: Equip educators with non-formal toolkits (e.g., media analysis, fact-checking games, and cognitive bias deconstruction) to help young people identify fake news, propaganda, and clickbait mechanisms.
Methodological Capacity Building: Train youth workers to design and facilitate practical media literacy workshops, such as narrative framing exercises, journalism fundamentals, and source verification, for local youth initiatives.
Train-the-Trainer (ToT) Delivery: Provide a safe practice laboratory where participants work in teams to co-design, deliver, and debrief an original critical thinking workshop for their peers, receiving structured feedback on their facilitation style.
Local Transferability & Replicability: Enable participants to adapt media literacy frameworks and non-formal tools into their home organizations and run local follow-up workshops for peers and youth in their home communities.
We are particularly looking for partners active in the field of media and/or critical thinking.
