A contact-making seminar for organisations who work with people with migratory background at local level, to build a network and propose joint projects.
Background of the project proposal:
The Erasmus+ programme offers many opportunities to people to discover other countries, to participate in vocational training, volunteering opportunities, educational programmes, and to create a network at international level which can facilitate finding further opportunities in the EU. The inclusiveness of the programme allows people with economic difficulties to participate (usually covering all costs – travel, accommodation, food, pocket money). We believe that building an international network which can support the design of projects (or projects of their own or the ones of their local partners) can contribute to the empowerment of people with migratory background, facilitating their integration thorugh competence development and intercultural learning.
Objectives of the project:
• To discover the possibilities and the benefits mobility projects can offer to refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in general
• To exchange tools to assess prior learning of the target group, to prepare and accompany them in a mobility project, and to facilitate the application of their newly acquired skills in the hosting country’s context
• To create a network of organisations who would implement and participate in mobility projects, involving refugees and asylum seekers
• To find alternatives for involving migrants without travel permit, in mobility projects (discovering the opportunities of virtual mobility; or sending international trainers and teachers to their host communities etc.)
