TURN emotiON – ERASMUS+ PROJECT PROPOSAL

Diaconia Valdese is looking for partners for the submission of a training and a youth exchange proposal under the KA1 Erasmus+ program (deadline 4 October 2017)

The aim of the project “TURN emotiON” is to learn how to deal with modern technologies issues with an emotional education approach. We want to share good practices, to learn new methods and to innovate our way to manage these issues with youngsters. We live in an era where new technologies have an important role to build relationships, in a positive way but also creating disturbing phenomenon (such as cyberbullism, violent radicalization and hate speech). We want to develop youngsters’ awareness to the risks related to the use of virtual communication, and help them to translate correctly their emotions in the digital language to prevent improper use.

PROPOSED ACTIVITIES, DATES AND PLACE:
We’re planning a training (in March 2018) and a youth exchange (in August 2018), both in Luserna San Giovanni (TO), Italy. We are also open to the idea of doing the youth exchange in another country, if your organization want to host and can provide places suitable for this activity.
The training will include 20 participants from 6/7 countries, and the youth exchange will include 20 participants aged 14-17 from 3 countries (if it will take place in Italy).

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT:
Training:
-to share good practices and support capacity building
-to raise knowledge about cyberbullism and hate speech phenomenon
-not just prevention: learn and develop recognition and action strategies (systemic method) about previously mentioned phenomenon
-to raise knowledge and to improve the cooperation of the 3 levels of intervention: non-profit, educational, institutional
-to support the development and the diffusion of emotional education
Youth Exchange:
-to raise awareness of the emotional dimension of the youngsters and to learn how to translate emotions in the digital communications
-to raise the knowledge about cyberbullism and hate speech phenomenon
-to support the development of a critical thinking and use of the modern technology
-to raise the knowledge about the role of technology in building interpersonal relationships
-to prevent cyberbullism and radical extremism in the cyberworld
-to develop non-formal education
-to support positive use of technology
-to discuss actively about youth policies on digital issues
-to improve european citizenship

PROFILE OF YOUTH WORKERS:
-more than 20 years old
-with a good English
-youth workers with experience and interest in the items of the project
-teachers not only in formal settings, but also non-formally (after-school activities, class lessons, etc.)
-institutional figure with experience in youth policies

The purpose to include different type of participants is to discuss more deeply about the three different level of action and their different approaches on the topic: 1. The non-profit and non-governmental, 2. The educational system, 3. The institutional system.

PARTNER ASSOCIATIONS’ PROFILE:
We are looking for non-profit associations, schools or organizations that work with schools and Institutions coming from the Program and Partner Countries that are interested in sharing their experience and increasing their knowledge about these different fields with the youngsters: emotional education; prevention of cyberbullism and violent radicalization; recognition and action strategies on cyberbullism and violent radicalization; inclusion of disadvantages young people; participation in democratic life; digital communication.

FINANCIAL CONDITIONS:
Participants' travel tickets (to and from the venue of the training) will be refunded by the coordinating organization within the limits of the Erasmus + lump sums. Accommodation, meals, as well as any material support for the training will be entirely covered by the Erasmus + funding. There will be no participation fee.
