“TRUST”
Summer 2017(youth exchange),
Giannitsa, Greece
Educational Innovation (Eduvation) is planning a 6-day Youth Exchange in Giannitsa, Northern Greece.
We are asking for 8 NGOs from different European countries to participate in the exchange, with 3 young people and 1 youth worker each and the same youth worker (if possible)for the evaluation meeting in Summer. Young participants are suggested to be from 18 to 25, most preferably to have already voted or will vote for the first time in their life.
Our goal is to work upon the rising phenomenon of distrust to the political and legal system and strengthen the value of participation of young people in political life through innovative experiential activities such as:
• Dynamic exchanging of knowledge and information.
• Drama activities on ancient comedies of Aristophanes
• Simulation game of analyzing and rethinking political and legal system structures.
• Parallel cultural activities.
• Building new programs together.
The main subject of the program is the distrust to the political and legal system by the citizens of the E.U. According to a research (March 2015) the average ratio of trust in the countries of E.U. was under 5.0 on a scale from 0 to 10. Corruption will be examined as a major factor on the citizens’ distrust. The phenomenon of corruption does not only cost a great amount of money to the E.U (http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/corrupt-european-countries-costing-eu-nearly-800bn-a-year-says-study-a6944436.html , https://ec.europa.eu/anti-fraud/sites/antifraud/files/docs/body/pwc_olaf_study_en.pdf ), and each of their country - members individually, but it is one of the main reasons of no participation to the politics ( https://lirias.kuleuven.be/bitstream/123456789/369647/1/comp-eur-pol_polpart.pdf ).
During the program questions will be set on the table such as:
• Which are the effects of corruption?
• When and in which sectors corruption thrives?
• Is corruption only a responsibility of the politicians? Which is the part of the citizens to the phenomenon?
• How we deal with it?
• How well-informed are we about corruption?
• Does misinformation harm as much as corruption itself?
Under the moto «Τrust yourself. Trust institutions again. Get involved » we aim to invite the participants of the program to regain their trust to the political and legal system, be more active citizens by participating and making the difference and stop believing that corruption will prevent them from their personal goals.

Financial conditions:
The food and accommodation will be provided and paid by the organizers. Travels costs will be counted based on the distance calculator of European Commission and reimbursed by bank transfer after the course (in Euros €).
