Trash CAN!

The main theme of the youth exchange TRASH CAN! is a synthesis of ecology and art. Both environmental awareness and development of
creativity are essential issues that should be stressed among youth thus project aims to empower young people to use recycling process as a source of inspiration and artistic expression.

The aim of the project is to raise participants awareness of environmental issues, especially the importance of recycling and the idea of 3R (reduce, reuse, recycle). The title of the youth exchange TRASH CAN! emphasizes the creative side of the project which strives to empower young people to develop their artistic talents in harmony with nature by converting back old and waste products. Planned activities and workshops will enable participants to become actively involved in social campaigns and actions
focused on sustainable development and ecology. Furthermore, based on exchange of ideas and transfer of skills, participants will organize TRASH CAN FESTIVAL for the local community. This activity will be taken to
sensitize the local community to environmental issues as well as to develop and improve team-working, organizing, acting, musical and
manual skills of young people. Another objective of the project is to create a material (movie, articles, photo-stories, posters) that can be used at the local level to raise the awareness and advocate for a sustainable development. To multiply the effect of the project, participants will organize similar activities at the local level.
