Project idea:
Developing and providing professional training program and personal development opportunity to young, disabled experts (in all disability area, age group: 20-30!!!) in order to involve them in future sensitizing training programs designed for employers, HR professionals, decision-makers etc.
Background or reasoning of this proposal:
An important part of our work is cooperation with employers and awareness-raising among decision makers in the business and public sector through training programs. Due to these trainings, we can help our disabled clients to find long-term, successful employment. Such trainings complement our Supported Employment service.
During the trainings, we often work with disabled people as “experts” who share their experiences of their everyday and working life. While involving disabled people in our training made the program more effective. We believe however that we need to provide professional training and development opportunity to our young, disabled experts so that they can become professional co-trainers and do the job more professionally and can also help their disabled peers.
In this way, we not only can teach new skills and competences for these young disabled people (that they can also use in other areas of their life), but also can comply more successful and professional training programs for employers, HR professionals who decide on the recruitment of disabled job-seekers.
Planned activities:
1. Studying other European countries, including the project partners! if they have
a. sensitizing training programs for employers, HR professionals involving disabled people in general
b. “train the trainer” program for disabled people
This phase of the project includes:
- research (about the existing training programs and national/international needs for this program etc.)
- mutual visits (in order to get to know each other Good Practices regarding this theme)
2. Developing the Intellectual Output of the Erasmus+ KA2 project
This phase of the project includes:
- summarizing of collected experiences
- developing or renewing the training method/curriculum of the train the trainer program (with disabled participants)
- testing the developed curriculum in every or in some partner countries
- summarizing the results of the testing
3. Closing the project, writing/complying Intellectual Output, dissemination etc.
We are looking for potential partners who either have experiences in the training of disabled people (as a professional), or organizations which are interested in this project proposal because they are planning to use this method and training curriculum in the future.
