“TO BE or NOT TO BE a YOUNG EUROPEAN ?”

European citizenship and theater

Theatre as a successful non-formal-learning method and the future of Europe could be

linked. The title is inspired from Hamlet from Shakespeare and would like to persuade the

young people to focus on their responsibilities as European citizens and future generation,

who could make the difference. We will explore in cooperation with a Theatre company

from Romania and a third international partner the history, present situation of our countries/

cultures, the future linked to the European Union of the young generations. We would like

to analyze with the method of theatre the prejudices, the stereotypes and show instead the

personal ideas and stories, scenes of our young people daily life and perception of the world.

Several workshops based on social games, confidence and concentration exercises, vocal

and body exercises, improvisation exercises and theatre scenes based on the main topic

of the project, which awareness of European Citizenship. This, excursion, international

evenings, language animation will take place during the exchange The young people could

develop their language, social and communication skills and learn a lot of information about

their European Rights. A cooperation with EURODESK Oldenburg will offer material and

possibilities of discussion and confrontation with the local community.
