TICTAC-Information and Communication Technology for (Trans)national Active Cooperation

TICTAC is a training and participation programme to promote innovation and quality in the voluntary youth work, through ICT.

The project: TICTAC is a training and participation programme to support self- development and active inclusion of the youngsters involved, but also to promote innovation and quality in the voluntary youth work.

The project aims to discuss, develop and evaluate different tools to ensure quality, stability, sustainability and visibility in youth projects and programmes, and the main focus will be on competency and knowledge through ICT.
What the various communication technologies offer, of course, is the opportunity to expand the boundaries of the local community to encompass an entire region, a country, till transcending national borders and establish an active and effective transnational collaboration.

The activities foreseen include a training seminar, to prepare and support the participants in developping a shared strategy using accessible ICT in the youth work. Each participant will be asked to develop a concrete project with young people, based on specific quality criteria. The development of the project will be documented and shared with the group, through regular web-meetings, in order to provide a peer-to-peer support and monitoring, and through the creation of an online platform for young volunteers.
A mid-term training seminar and and an evaluation and dissemination conference are also oveseen, as well as activities for the production of follow up materials.

Profile of the partners: The project will involve preferably youth NGOs who are national branches of international umbrella bodies/networks or local branches of national organisations.

Profile of the participants: Each partner should ensure the participation of at least 2 (max.4) volunteers/youth workers, who will be the beneficiaries of the training programme and the promoters of the project within their organisations. In order to ensure a fruitful exchange of knowledge and the sustainability of the project, the participants should have already a certain degree of experience in youth field, know deeply the structure and the activities of their organizations and be able to influence their strategic development (eg. board members, staff in managerial position, highly involved volunteers).
