Looking for a coordinator for THREADS a project that brings together women to upcycle and co-create a podcast celebrating culture, memory, and sustainability.
THREADS is an intergenerational, feminist adult education project that brings together retired women (65+) and younger women (18–30) from diverse backgrounds — including migrants and women from marginalised communities. Through weekly creative sessions, participants share stories, reclaim forgotten skills, and build solidarity by turning discarded personal objects into upcycled creations and digital content.
Each older woman brings an item she once considered throwing away — a teacup, apron, photograph, scarf, recipe — and uses it to share a personal story: of migration, care, resistance, love, or labour. These stories spark hands-on upcycling workshops, where older women pass down skills like sewing, mending, dyeing, or weaving. In return, younger women support them in learning digital tools, including podcast production and social media.
Once a month, the sessions go public — popping up in local markets and community spaces — to celebrate women’s voices and sustainable creativity in the heart of everyday life.
