Theater and Inclusion

This mobility in Thessaloniki, Greece, aims at fostering inclusion and awareness for human rights for young people through theatrical tools

We are looking for partners in of programme countries to send young people on a Youth Exchange in Thessaloniki, Greece. The mobility aims at fostering inclusion and awareness for human rights for young people through theatrical tools, thanks to non-formal methods like body movements, role play and an inspiration from the Theater of the Oppressed.

OBJECTIVES:
- To empower youth to take an active role for social inclusion in their communities in fighting discrimination and marginalization thanks to theatre tools.
- Familiarize participants with the basic principles of theatre for social change / Theatre of the Oppressed / Invisible Theatre
- Promote European values by exploring subjects like solidarity and tolerance, respect and mutual understanding, intercultural dialogue and cooperation between young people coming from different religious, cultural and social backgrounds;
- Understand the mechanisms whereby theatre for social change can be adapted to different countries/environments/communities.
-Enrich body expression of young people as individual and as groups
- Highlighting the connection between human rights, democracy, intercultural learning, and European citizenship
- Encouraging active participation, increasing self-empowerment of young people view on their role in society
- Raise awareness about the need for activism in order to reach social achievements, through empathizing with the position of the oppressed.
-Gaining knowledge and developing new skills on Youthpass as a recognition tool for non-formal learning;


We are looking preferably for mutual partnerships.
