The shadow theatre for nature storytelling

We've been telling stories in our shadow theater: the shadows of actors, puppets, and paper figures appear. We create a world where important things happen.

Let me introduce myself: I am a teacher. In my work, I try not only to teach, but also to bring up
young people properly and prompt them to act. This becomes possible when they feel connected
with the objective reality, natural knowledge and tradition. I think that ecological education is very important nowadays. For 8 years we have been running a project entitled Academy of Ecology and Arts for Children; – a series of artistic and ecological workshops. During the workshops the participants develop manual skills and ecological knowledge, as well as imagination and sensitivity to nature. The program of the Academy of Ecology and Art covers the issues of the nature conservation and the ecology of protected species of fauna and flora in Poland, knowledge about upcycling and recycling, knowledge about inspirations from nature in culture and arts, knowledge about climate change and more.
One of the forms of our educational activities is the Shadow Theatre. We conduct workshops for children on the subject of ecology, with the performance of plays in the Shadow Theatre. I want to exchange experiences and establish interesting cooperation.
