THE RIGHT TO THE RIGHTS

The Council of Europe adopted in the recent years two instruments - “Recommendation on Young People´s access to rights” and “Recommendation on the access of young people from disadvantaged neighborhoods to social rights”.
However, the potential of these recommendations has not yet been transferred to the European society, making the achievement of objectives linked to the prevention and eradication of the poverty, discrimination, violence and exclusion faced by young people, more difficult to reach.
In our perspective, it is urgent to inform young people about the opportunity for social change, involving them and enabling them to develop practical actions that disseminate the impacts of the Recommendations.
In this framework, our exchange proposal involves bringing together young people from five European countries, in an 8-day program in Portugal in September 2019, with the challenge of making youth access to social rights more equal.
